A “follow the fortunes” clause in a reinsurance treaty does not override the treaty’s explicit definition of covered losses; a reinsurer is not obligated to indemnify a reinsured’s allocation of losses if that allocation falls outside the treaty’s definition of “disaster and/or casualty.”
